INDIA MILES
Originally from rural Virginia, India Miles, 38, developed a love for learning early on, immersing herself in self-help books, autobiographies, and encyclopedias—fueling a fierce determination to succeed. Much of her early childhood was spent in solitude, journaling, exploring the outdoors, and enjoying farmlife alongside animals. Despite the isolation, by the time she entered high school she thrived both socially and academically—earning honor-roll status, serving as lead violinist, excelling as a cheerleader, and standing out as a track athlete, all while dreaming of attending the University of Virginia on a full scholarship.
When her dreams were abruptly cut short after being forced into marriage at sixteen and abandoned by her family, India refused to let her circumstances define her. Determined to build a better future, she heard the Lord say, “Live your best life,” a message that fueled her resolve to press forward. She juggled two jobs during her senior year of high school, paid rent to relatives for a place to live, and earned her braider’s license to support herself. Graduating with honors, she was accepted to Virginia State University, but after just one semester, homelessness forced her to withdraw. As an emancipated minor, she was ineligible for many traditional financial aid programs, ultimately pushing her into the workforce full-time.
India worked tirelessly as a bill collector in credit card collections, working her way up to management. At the age of twenty, she achieved a major milestone—purchasing her first home. However, shortly after, she faced divorce. After five years marked by emotional exhaustion, abandonment issues, and her own struggles with infidelity, her husband ultimately chose to leave. The divorce catapulted her into a deep desire to heal, live life on her own terms, and reclaim her purpose. Determined to move forward, she made a vow of poverty to rebuild her life. She walked away from all of her possessions, allowed her house to be foreclosed, had her car repossessed, and stopped relying on her own way of doing things—choosing instead to follow God's guidance and trust His plan for her life.
Determined to rewrite her story, India earned an accelerated Bachelor's degree in Business Management from ECPI University. In her final semester, she felt the Holy Spirit urge her once again to “live your best life,” prompting her to pursue entrepreneurship full-time. That divine direction laid the foundation for B.E.S.T. (Building Economic Stability Together, LLC)—a vision born from her desire to create meaningful relationships, a surrogate family, financial success, and impact lives. Through B.E.S.T., she launched a social network that hosted training events and offered financial literacy programs, mentorship, and personal and executive image consulting services, all designed to showcase her talents while ensuring both her own success and the success of others.
Facing the challenges of sustaining herself as a social entrepreneur, India leveraged her social media, using her growing platform to fuel her business and expand her impact in the lives of underserved students and her community. Through this success—along with speaking engagements at local schools and the creation of career readiness, professional development, and personal growth programs—she established herself as a respected voice in empowerment and education.
As a young woman in business, India faced both financial and personal hardships, discrimination due to her age and social status, and the emotional toll of rejection, humiliation, and isolation. These challenges led her into a period of depression, but in her late twenties, she rededicated her life and business to the Lord. Guided by the Holy Spirit, she found renewed purpose — becoming a self-taught brand photographer and self-publishing her workbook, Cry But Don't Quit: 9 Steps to Living Your Best Life Now!, in 2016.
In 2020, India was honored with the Super Women Award by L.O.E. Media in recognition of her community service work. That same year, she launched Cry But Don’t Quit.™, a motivational enterprise designed to empower women through personal growth workshops, success coaching, business mentorship, and personal branding services.
India teaches the Cry But Don’t Quit™ method—a framework drawn from her lived experiences and built on nine core principles: faith, love, integrity, work ethic, emerging leadership, relationship building, prayer and devotion, image, and courage.
